An opportunity is available for a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher to provide specialized instruction within a K-12 school setting in Boston, MA. This contract position is for the current school year and offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on students with visual impairments by supporting their academic and developmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments.
  • Deliver direct instruction and support in core academic subjects and adaptive skills.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure access to the curriculum.
  • Utilize assistive technology and teaching strategies to enhance student learning and independence.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with relevant education regulations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments across various grade levels, preferably K-12.
  • Strong understanding of instructional techniques, braille, and assistive technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within an educational team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
