Seeking dedicated professionals to provide specialized education to students with visual impairments in an inclusive K-12 setting. This full-time position for the 2025-2026 school year is located in Okanogan, WA, requiring a committed individual to support and enhance the learning experiences of visually impaired students.
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington state license for Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Proficiency in Braille
- Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in an itinerant role
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse needs
Location:
Okanogan, WA
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff to ensure a supportive learning environment
- Provide direct instruction in accessible materials and techniques, including Braille
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and maintain accurate student records
- Support students in developing social and self-advocacy skills
