Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Cambridge, Massachusetts

An opportunity is available for a skilled educator specializing in visual impairment to support K-12 students in a dynamic school environment. This contract position focuses on delivering tailored instruction and resources to students with visual impairments, promoting independence and academic success throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and identify the individual needs of students with visual impairments.
• Develop and implement specialized instructional strategies and materials.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to create inclusive learning experiences.
• Assist students in using adaptive technology and mobility skills.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and adapt plans accordingly.
• Provide training and guidance on visual impairment accommodations to staff and families.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
• Experience working with school-age children (K-12) with visual impairments.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and techniques that support visual accessibility.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a commitment to enhancing student learning outcomes.

Contract Details:
