An opportunity is available for a skilled educator specializing in visual impairment to support K-12 students in a dynamic school environment. This contract position focuses on delivering tailored instruction and resources to students with visual impairments, promoting independence and academic success throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify the individual needs of students with visual impairments.
- Develop and implement specialized instructional strategies and materials.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to create inclusive learning experiences.
- Assist students in using adaptive technology and mobility skills.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and adapt plans accordingly.
- Provide training and guidance on visual impairment accommodations to staff and families.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Experience working with school-age children (K-12) with visual impairments.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and techniques that support visual accessibility.
