A K-12 school in the Roanoke, VA area is seeking a skilled Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join their team for the contract school year (CSY). This position offers both part-time and full-time options, providing flexibility to accommodate various schedules. Candidates must have certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) along with Orientation & Mobility (O&M) or Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
• O&M or OMS certification required
• Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments
• Ability to design and implement specialized instruction tailored to students’ needs

Responsibilities:

• Assess and develop individualized educational programs for students with visual impairments
• Provide specialized instruction including Braille literacy, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility training
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support student success
• Maintain detailed student records and progress reports
