Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction in Braille literacy to support the individualized needs of students
- Deliver orientation and mobility training to enhance students’ independence and confidence
- Collaborate with the Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to develop and implement effective learning strategies
- Monitor and track student progress to adjust teaching methods as needed
- Communicate regularly with school staff and families to support student development
Qualifications:
- Certification or proven experience as a Braillist and Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
- Experience working with early childhood students, particularly in grades K-5
- Ability to work part-time, approximately one day per week, with flexibility to adjust from half a day to a full day
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators and families
