A K-12 educational position is available for a dedicated professional specializing in services for students with visual impairments. This role is based in the Irving, TX area and involves working within a supportive school environment focused on enhancing learning opportunities for visually impaired students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across grades K-12.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement tailored educational plans.
- Participate in annual ARD meetings, contributing to discussions on student progress and service adjustments.
- Allocate 20 minutes of consultation every six weeks to ensure alignment of educational strategies.
- Manage 40 minutes of additional compensatory time within service schedules as directed during annual reviews.
Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired with experience in K-12 educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of instructional methods and assistive technology for visually impaired students.
- Effective communication and collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage schedules and deliver compensatory instruction as required.
- Commitment to student success and individualized education planning.
Location:
- Irving, Texas, with duties including service at a South campus located in Fort Worth.
Contract Details:
- This is a non-school year (NSY) contract position, providing focused support outside of the regular academic calendar.
