Apply NowAn opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instructional services in a K-12 school setting. This onsite position supports students with visual impairments in a Florida district, primarily based at the Children's Reading Center Charter School in Palatka, FL. The role requires some local travel within the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to a caseload of 9 students, ranging from 3rd to 10th grade.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) focused on visual impairment needs.
- Conduct evaluations and adjust services according to students’ current needs.
- Provide direct, onsite instruction 2-3 days per week (14-25 hours weekly), based on evaluation schedules.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Teacher for the Visually Impaired Educator Certificate is required.
- Demonstrated experience working with visually impaired K-12 students.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt teaching strategies to individual student requirements.
- Strong communication skills and team collaboration mindset.
- Willingness to travel locally between school sites as needed.
Location: Palatka, FL (onsite), with some travel involved
Duration: Contract through May 29, 2026, with immediate start availability
Schedule: Part-time, 2-3 days per week
