This opportunity is for a skilled educator specializing in visual impairments to serve K-12 students in Kingman, AZ. The position is a contracted, current school year (CSY) role offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' learning experiences by providing specialized instruction tailored to their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to visually impaired students across grades K-12
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and materials
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and monitor progress
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines
- Provide training and resources to staff and families regarding vision-related accommodations and assistive technologies
Qualifications:
- Active Arizona teaching license with endorsement or certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Demonstrated experience working with students who have visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, assistive technology, and IEP development for visually impaired learners
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse school teams and families
