An opportunity is available for a dedicated professional specialized in teaching students with visual impairments, serving grades K-12. This position offers full-time hours (37.5 per week) with flexibility for the right candidate, including part-time options for on-site educators. The role is based in Los Fresnos, TX, and is structured as a contract position for the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to students with visual impairments.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success.
- Manage a caseload of no more than 20 students, ensuring individualized attention and effective program implementation.
- Develop and adapt educational materials to meet students’ unique needs.
- Conduct assessments and provide progress reports to inform instructional planning.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a manageable caseload effectively.
- Flexibility regarding hours is a plus, especially for candidates able to work on-site.
