A school in Lynden, WA is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support a high school student in the 9th grade. This contract position will begin as soon as possible and last through June 9, 2026.
Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction and support tailored to the student’s visual impairment. The role requires delivering 1-2 days of direct service per week or 30 minutes of instruction across 5 days weekly. You will collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility and promote the student's academic success.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with high school students with visual impairments
- Ability to design and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school personnel
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive techniques for visual impairments
Location: Lynden, Washington
Duration: Contract starting ASAP through 6/9/2026
Schedule: Part-time, 1-2 days per week or 30 minutes daily five days a week
