This full-time position offers an opportunity to work as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired serving K-12 students in an itinerant capacity. The role involves supporting approximately 10 students, some requiring visits 1 to 3 times per week. Located in Manchester, TN, this contract runs for the full school year and focuses on direct student services, assessment, and collaboration with general education staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across K-12 grade levels.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments to determine student needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's goals.
  • Design and prepare appropriate educational materials to assist and complement general education curriculum.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure students’ accessibility to classroom content and activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring according to professional and district standards.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments or relevant licensure.
  • Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments in school settings.
  • Strong ability to develop and monitor IEP goals effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff.
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently in an itinerant role.
