A part-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired position is available in Millis, MA, providing specialized educational support for elementary-aged students. This travel role involves delivering all services within a single building, ensuring focused and consistent service provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct visual impairment instruction for a caseload of 4 elementary students, totaling approximately 12 service hours monthly.
  • Conduct consultative support totaling 11.7 hours annually to supplement student learning.
  • Collaborate with the director to establish and maintain an effective service schedule.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' visual needs.
  • Monitor student progress and modify instructional strategies as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts state Teaching Certification in Visual Education is required.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally to the designated school location.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and service providers.
