A K-12 school in Palm Coast, FL is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide onsite services to students with visual impairments. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational experience of students in grades 3 through 10, primarily at one location, with some travel to the Children's Reading Center Charter School.
Location: Palatka, FL (with some travel required)
Job Duration: Contract through May 29th, 2026
Schedule: 2 to 3 days per week, approximately 14-25 hours depending on weekly evaluations
Caseload: 9 students, grades 3-10
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in a K-12 setting
- Adapt and develop educational materials suited for students’ individual visual needs
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to enhance student learning
- Conduct evaluations and adjust instructional strategies based on student progress
- Maintain compliance with state and district educational requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Educator Certificate required
- Experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting
- Ability to travel as needed to multiple school locations within the district
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
