A full-time teaching opportunity is available in North of Dallas, Texas, for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired. This contract position supports K-12 students within a dynamic school environment. The role offers a combination of direct instructional services, consultative support, and some student evaluations, all provided onsite to ensure comprehensive assistance tailored to the needs of visually impaired learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services to students with visual impairments across K-12 grade levels.
- Provide consultative support to classroom teachers, staff, and families to facilitate appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Conduct evaluations to assess students’ vision-related educational needs and assist in developing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote effective learning environments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
- Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
- Strong understanding of specialized instructional methodologies and adaptive technology.
- Ability to perform student evaluations and develop IEPs.
