A full-time teaching opportunity is available in North of Dallas, Texas, for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired. This contract position supports K-12 students within a dynamic school environment. The role offers a combination of direct instructional services, consultative support, and some student evaluations, all provided onsite to ensure comprehensive assistance tailored to the needs of visually impaired learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional services to students with visual impairments across K-12 grade levels.
  • Provide consultative support to classroom teachers, staff, and families to facilitate appropriate accommodations and modifications.
  • Conduct evaluations to assess students’ vision-related educational needs and assist in developing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote effective learning environments.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
  • Strong understanding of specialized instructional methodologies and adaptive technology.
  • Ability to perform student evaluations and develop IEPs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality educational support in an onsite school setting.

Location: Plano, TX (North of Dallas) Employment Type: Full-time Contract for the Current School Year (CSY) Schedule: Onsite

Compensation: Hourly rate between $40-$50 depending on qualifications and experience.
