An opportunity is available for a skilled professional to serve as a teacher for visually impaired students within a K-12 school setting. This contract position spans the current school year, providing dedicated support and specialized instruction to students with visual impairments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
- Utilize specialized teaching techniques and assistive technology to enhance learning experiences.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure comprehensive support and accessibility.
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as needed.
- Provide orientation and mobility training to help students navigate their environments safely and independently.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with students across K-12 grade levels who have visual impairments.
- Knowledge of assistive technology, Braille, and relevant instructional strategies.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment.

Duration: Current School Year (CSY) Contract
