Teacher of Visually Impaired in Richmond, TX

An opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support K-12 students across a districtwide itinerant caseload in the Richmond, TX area. This contract position, running from ASAP through July 3, 2026, involves providing specialized instruction and intervention services for visually impaired students to promote their academic success and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across multiple schools within the district
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Conduct assessments and maintain detailed records of student progress
• Provide orientation and mobility training as needed
• Participate in professional development and team meetings

Qualifications:

• Valid Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator license
• Experience with K-12 students, ideally in an itinerant role
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage a districtwide caseload effectively
