This full-time teaching position in the San Jacinto area offers an opportunity to support K-12 students with visual impairments. The role is a full-semester contract, focused on delivering specialized instruction and resources tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired learners.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials accordingly.
- Utilize Braille literacy skills to teach and support students requiring Braille.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Maintain records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications and experience:
- Certification or experience as a Visually Impaired Teacher.
- Proficiency in Braille instruction (Braillist skills preferred).
- Strong understanding of K-12 educational standards and practices for students with visual impairments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning needs.
