Teacher of Visually Impaired - Sahuarita, AZ

An opportunity is available for a dedicated candidate to support students in a K-12 setting for the upcoming school year. This full-time, itinerant position involves working across several sites, providing essential educational services to meet the diverse needs of students with visual impairments.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment
• Experience in conducting Functional Vision assessments and initial evaluations
• Strong background in IEP writing and evaluation processes
• Proficient in using assistive technology to support students’ learning
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Location: Sahuarita, AZ

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction aligned with IEP goals and assistive technology needs
• Conduct in-person evaluations and assessments to determine student requirements
• Collaborate with school teams to develop and implement individualized education plans
• Schedule and facilitate meetings while ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
• Travel between schools as required, maintaining a reliable form of transportation
