Qualifications:
- Active Visually Impaired Teacher Certification, valid in South Carolina or another state
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in an itinerant role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Proficient in using assistive technology and adaptive materials
- Commitment to collaboration with staff, students, and families
Location: Summerville, SC
Responsibilities:
- Provide educational instruction and support to visually impaired students across grade levels
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement IEP goals and use appropriate teaching strategies
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and educational staff
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to a supportive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adaptive strategies used in instruction
