A specialized opportunity is available for an educator skilled in supporting students with visual impairments at the elementary level. This contract position spans the normal school year and focuses on delivering tailored instruction to a kindergarten student in need of individualized attention.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing one-on-one instruction designed for a visually impaired kindergarten student
- Conducting four 90-minute sessions weekly, emphasizing skill development and accessibility
- Collaborating with a dedicated one-on-one assistant to enhance instructional effectiveness
- Utilizing fully Spanish-language instruction to meet student communication needs
- Managing six hours of direct teaching complemented by two hours of indirect work weekly
Qualifications or desired experience:
- Certification or training as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working one-on-one with young children, especially in early childhood education
- Fluency in Spanish, both spoken and written, to align with the student's language requirements
- Ability to develop and implement specialized lesson plans geared toward visual impairment
- Strong organizational and communication skills for coordinating with assistants and other educational staff
