A part-time opportunity is available for a certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) specializing in telehealth services. This role focuses on supporting a 9-year-old second-grade student at the elementary level, with an emphasis on teaching writing skills through virtual sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the student’s visual impairment.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to conduct 2.5 hours of remote teaching each month.
- Develop individualized strategies to enhance the student’s writing abilities.
- Collaborate with classroom educators and caregivers to integrate learning goals.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Missouri Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification is required.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in developing literacy and writing skills.
- Proficiency in delivering remote instruction via telehealth technologies.
- Strong communication skills and ability to tailor approaches to individual needs.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Location and Duration:
- This role supports a student located in Cape Girardeau, MO.
- The position is contract-based for the duration of the Upcoming School Year (NSY).
- Instruction is part-time, totaling approximately 2.5 hours per month, conducted virtually.
