This opportunity extends for a full semester and focuses on delivering specialized support to students requiring tailored educational strategies to accommodate visual impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instructional plans to meet the learning needs of visually impaired students.
- Adapt curriculum materials and use assistive technologies to enhance accessibility.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support academic progress.
- Assess student performance and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and services provided.
- Provide guidance on orientation and mobility skills as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure for teaching students with visual impairments.
- Experience working with visually impaired students across elementary and secondary grades.
- Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technologies, and modified instructional techniques.
- Effective communication skills with students, families, and educational staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage a full-semester contract.
