Job Description: We are seeking passionate and dedicated School Social Workers to join our school district in Blue Island, IL. As a School Social Worker, you will provide essential support to students, families, and staff to enhance the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students in grades K-8. Your role will involve collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, conducting assessments, providing interventions, and advocating for students' needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive social-emotional assessments to identify students' strengths, needs, and barriers to learning
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized support plans
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students individually and in small groups
- Assist students in developing coping skills, problem-solving strategies, and positive behavior management techniques
- Collaborate with community agencies to coordinate support services for students and families
- Participate in the development and implementation of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
- Advocate for students' needs, ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring data
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work or related field
- Valid Illinois state license as a School Social Worker
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement
- Experience working as a School Social Worker is preferred, particularly in a K-8 educational setting
- Strong knowledge of social-emotional development, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention strategies
- Familiarity with the MTSS process and understanding of special education laws and regulations
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

- Contract Duration: 2023-2024 School Year
