A school near Lexington, Massachusetts has asked Soliant Schools for help in finding a severe needs special educator to join their team for the school year. This is a full time, W-2 contracting position. The ideal candidate is certified to teach special education in the state of Massachusetts.

The purpose of this position is to have an individual who can provide instruction to special education students on the autism spectrum, both in sub-separate and inclusion settings. The TASC teacher will support the development and implementation of discrete trial programs and behavior plans, and will serve as the special education liaison for a group of students in the program. The TASC program provides services for children who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related diagnoses. The main teaching style of this program is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). There is a high student to teacher ratio in all of the classrooms to ensure the appropriate support for the academic, behavioral and social needs of all students. There are opportunities for both small group and individual instruction depending on the needs of the student.

  • Utilizes educational materials properly.
  • Maintains a pleasant, neat and well-organized classroom.
  • Performs scheduled duties promptly.
  • Fulfills paperwork responsibilities promptly.
  • Maintains professional competence through in-service educational activities.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the content area.
  • Understands and implements the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Education in Severe Disabilities, All Levels.
  • Demonstrated subject matter competence, highly qualified, in the area of licensure.
