Sign Language Interpreter - Full Time - Weekly Pay

Soliant is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for placement in an Illinois school near Montgomery. This is a full time position starting next school year – please let us know if you would like to work part time during the extended school year as well.
Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in ASL or Education Interpreting
• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of at least 3.5
• PEL with Interpreter Endorsement
• Must be able to detect nuances of student signs and intentions and communicate with them in appropriate English

Details:

• On-site
• 35 hours a week (FTE)
• Monday through Friday
• High School

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate communication between the hard-of-hearing students and hearing individuals during the school day
• Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality during interpretation
• Collaborate with staff and advise on discipline-specific best practices
