Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Preferred: Previous experience in school-based settings.
  • Proficiency in local and state regulations governing speech-language therapy services in schools.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform evaluations and assessments to diagnose speech and language disorders, creating customized treatment plans.
  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students, focusing on enhancing communication skills and participation in school activities.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and team members to support students' academic and communication success.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings as required.
  • Stay updated on best practices and trends in speech-language therapy.
