We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for the upcoming school year in Pittsfield, MA. As an SLPA, you will play a crucial role in assisting speech-language pathologists in providing speech and language services to students, helping them improve their communication skills and achieve academic success.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech Language Pathologists in implementing therapy sessions and interventions as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
- Work directly with students, individually or in small groups, to address their speech and language goals
- Implement and monitor therapy plans under the supervision and guidance of a licensed speech-language pathologist
- Utilize appropriate materials, tools, and technology to support student learning and progress
- Collect data on student performance and progress, and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including teachers, parents, and related service providers
- Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field
- Valid SLPA license or certification in the state of Massachusetts
- Experience working with children or students in a school setting is preferred
- Knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and therapy techniques
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students and implement therapy plans accordingly
- A passion for helping students improve their communication skills and achieve their full potential
