We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for the upcoming school year in Pittsfield, MA. As an SLPA, you will play a crucial role in assisting speech-language pathologists in providing speech and language services to students, helping them improve their communication skills and achieve academic success.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Speech Language Pathologists in implementing therapy sessions and interventions as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
  • Work directly with students, individually or in small groups, to address their speech and language goals
  • Implement and monitor therapy plans under the supervision and guidance of a licensed speech-language pathologist
  • Utilize appropriate materials, tools, and technology to support student learning and progress
  • Collect data on student performance and progress, and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including teachers, parents, and related service providers
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field
  • Valid SLPA license or certification in the state of Massachusetts
  • Experience working with children or students in a school setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and therapy techniques
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students and implement therapy plans accordingly
  • A passion for helping students improve their communication skills and achieve their full potential
