Position: Special Education Teacher (Extended School Year and 2023-2024 School Year)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA for the Extended School Year and the upcoming 2023-2024 School Year. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Adapt and modify instructional materials to meet students' diverse learning styles and abilities
• Provide direct instruction and support to students individually or in small groups
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to create effective strategies for student success
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation
• Attend professional development opportunities to stay informed about current practices in special education

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with students with special needs
• Knowledge of different learning disabilities and effective instructional strategies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students on an individual level
