Soliant is partnered with a school just south of Jacksonville, Florida that is looking for an Special Education paraprofessional for the upcoming school year. The school year is starting right around the corner and directors are looking to hire quickly, so apply today! 


Responsibilities:

  • Performs various instructional support tasks as assigned to facilitate the effective teaching of applicable subject matter and to maintain appropriate classroom environment
  • Distributes and collects instructional materials and monitors student's progress on the learning activity
  • Provides directions and instructions for performing a lesson or exercise and answers questions pertaining to such
  • Proctors and grades examinations or lessons and enters results into the appropriate classroom records
  • Assists individual students through drill and practice sessions to acquire and strengthen previously taught concepts, skills and learning programs to ensure procedural correctness and maximum understanding
  • Assists in managing student's classroom conduct and behavior and informs teachers of incidents, circumstances or factors having a bearing upon effective learning
  • May be assigned to perform varied clerical duties such as: filing, copying, basic computer work and operation of other office type equipment


Job Details:

  • Full time position
  • Onsite Position (K-4th, 17 students)

Requirements:

  • An Associate's Degree or higher OR have completed sixty (60) college semester hours at an accredited institution of higher education OR receiving the District approved score on the District approved Assessment and a High School Diploma or General Education Development certificate (GED)
  • Ability to relate to children
  • Strong written, verbal, mathematical and reasoning skills and ability to communicate with diverse individuals and groups
