Job Posting: Special Education Paraprofessional or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Location: Woonsocket, RI
Start Date: ASAP – May 22, 2025
Full-Time: 35-37.5 hours/week
Multiple Openings Available
Positions Available:
- PreK 1:1: Support for nonverbal student
- Life Skills Elementary: 1:1 support for 3rd grader
- Floater Position (Elementary): Provide 1:1 behavior support in various elementary classrooms
- Teacher Assistants: In every room, with BCBA support
Company: Soliant Education
Contract Length: 2024-2025 School Year
Pay Range: Paraprofessional ($20-$23/hour) | RBT ($24-$27/hour)
Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher and other school staff in providing individualized support to students with special needs
- Implement behavioral strategies and interventions as outlined by the BCBA or educational team
- Provide direct 1:1 support for students in various educational settings
- Work collaboratively with the teacher, BCBA, and other staff members to monitor student progress
- Maintain appropriate documentation for student progress, behavior, and interventions
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment for all students
- Attend required meetings, training, and professional development sessions
- Assist with personal care needs and ensure the safety of students at all times
- Adapt instructional materials and activities to meet the needs of students
- Follow all school district policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Paraprofessional Applicants:
- Must have Teaching Assistant Certification and have passed the PRAXIS Test
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with children with diverse needs
- Experience in a school or behavioral health setting preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- RBT Applicants:
- Must have an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) license
- Experience working with children with autism or other behavioral disorders preferred
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques
- Ability to implement behavior intervention plans and collect data
