Special Education (SPED) Teacher - near Geneva, IL

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher to join our team near Geneva, Illinois. As an SPED Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing quality education and support to students with special needs, helping them reach their full potential and promoting inclusivity within the school community. Job Details: 

• 18 hrs/week 
• Caseload: 1 Highschool student 
• Onsite 

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, based on their unique strengths, challenges, and goals.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring the delivery of appropriate and differentiated instruction.
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs and promote engagement and learning.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and other professionals to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Utilize various teaching methods, assistive technologies, and accommodations to support students' access to the curriculum.
• Monitor students' progress, assess their academic and behavioral development, and adjust instruction as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching license in Special Education in the state of Illinois.
• Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Familiarity with various disabilities, learning differences, and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Ability to create and implement effective and engaging lesson plans that address individual learning goals.
