We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher (SPED) for a full-time position in Centreville, MI, for the 2023-2024 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive educational community and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, tailoring instructional strategies to meet their unique learning needs.
  • Modify and adapt curriculum materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within inclusive classroom settings.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both group and one-on-one settings.
  • Regularly assess student progress, track data, and make adjustments to instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to foster an inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and IEP documentation.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student performance and engaging in collaborative problem-solving.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid SPED teaching certification in the state of Michigan.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to address diverse student needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
