Job Title: Special Education Teacher - Emotional Disabilities Classroom

Soliant is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher for an Emotional Disabilities (ED) classroom in the Cherokee County School District, SC, for the 2023-2024 school year. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work with students who have emotional disabilities. Prior schools experience and certification in South Carolina, preferably with an ED endorsement, are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with emotional disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in an Emotional Disabilities classroom.
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of students.
  • Implement behavior management techniques and interventions to support students' emotional and behavioral growth.
  • Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Foster social-emotional development and teach coping skills to students.

Requirements:

  • Valid Special Education certification in the state of South Carolina.
  • Prior experience working with students with emotional disabilities in a school or educational setting is required.
  • Preferably, hold an endorsement in Emotional Disabilities or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and fellow educators.
  • Ability to implement behavior management strategies and create a structured and supportive learning environment.
  • Availability to work full-time throughout the 2023-2024 school year.
