Special Education Teacher (MULTIPLE OPENINGS)

Job Opportunity: Special Education Teacher near Wood Dale School District

Location: Near Wood Dale, IL

Type: Full-Time (2 Positions Available)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Position 1 - Resource Classroom, 8th Grade Students:

• Creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Providing targeted support and accommodations to help 8th-grade students succeed in general education classrooms.
• Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to ensure the inclusion and success of special education students.
• Monitoring and tracking student progress and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.

Position 2 - Multi-Needs Self-Contained Classroom, Grades K-5:

• Developing and implementing specialized instructional programs for students with a range of disabilities.
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the needs of elementary students.
• Collaborating with related service providers, parents, and the IEP team to address the unique needs of each student.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Illinois state certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with students in resource or self-contained classrooms is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
