Position Overview:

Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to work with middle school students with moderate disabilities at a small middle/high school. This is a full-time contract position starting ASAP through mid-June 2025. The position involves working primarily with middle school students, many of whom are part of full inclusion programs. Some support for high school students may also be required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide small group instruction for students with moderate disabilities.
• Serve as a liaison between students, families, and staff to ensure the successful implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Write, update, and manage IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Track student progress and data, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
• Conduct assessments and testing to monitor student achievement and development.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and provide guidance as needed.
• Assist with behavioral interventions and support social-emotional learning.
• Work in a collaborative environment with other educators, staff, and administrators.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s preferred).
• Valid Special Education Teacher certification for Massachusetts.
• Experience working with students with moderate disabilities, preferably in a middle/high school setting.
• Ability to write and implement IEPs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to provide small group and individualized instruction.
• Passion for supporting diverse learners and helping them reach their full potential.
