Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Work closely with classroom teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are being effectively carried out.
• Provide direct support and instruction to students, both one-on-one and in small groups.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with parents, guardians, and other school staff members.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote a positive learning experience.
• Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid Maine Teaching Certification in Special Education.
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities (preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Compassionate and patient approach to teaching and learning.
