We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will provide individualized and group support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive a high-quality education in an inclusive and supportive environment. We are looking for a caring educator who is committed to making a difference in the lives of students with disabilities, helping them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction and specialized support in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and create a supportive learning environment for students with disabilities.
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet each student's unique needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and emotional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal special education laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (required).
- Valid Illinois Special Education Certification (required).
- Experience working with students with disabilities (preferred).
- Strong understanding of IEP development, special education law, and individualized instruction.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a strong passion for helping students succeed.
