Special Education Teacher Needed! White Pigeon, Michigan

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and experienced Contracted Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year. Located in Michigan we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Provide instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in accordance with their IEPs
• Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the individualized needs of students
• Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to create inclusive classroom environments
• Monitor student progress and regularly update IEPs based on assessment results
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents/guardians to address student needs and progress
• Utilize assistive technology and specialized resources to enhance student learning
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and interventions
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities, including but not limited to learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and emotional/behavioral disorders
• Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusivity and meeting the unique needs of each student
