Contract Agency is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a reputable school district near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This part-time position, with 30 hours per week, focuses on providing exceptional education and support to young learners with special needs, primarily 2, 4, and 5-year-olds. The role covers two different campuses and currently serves approximately 6 students, with the potential for increased enrollment. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs and abilities.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with various special needs, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and support staff, to create a comprehensive educational environment.
- Use appropriate teaching strategies and adaptive materials to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instructional methods to facilitate learning and skill development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students' independence, self-esteem, and social interactions.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices in special education and early childhood education.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of student progress and IEP documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Louisiana teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification.
- Previous experience working with young children with special needs is preferred.
- Strong commitment to promoting the educational and developmental growth of young learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and support staff.
- Dedication to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
