Soliant is pleased to announce a compelling opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a respected school district near Providence, Rhode Island. This full-time position focuses on serving elementary students with special needs and offers a chance to make a significant impact on their educational journey. If you are a qualified Special Education Teacher with Rhode Island Department of Education certification and can start immediately, we encourage you to apply for this position, available until mid-June.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for elementary students with diverse special needs.
  • Provide specialized instruction, accommodations, and support to meet students' unique learning requirements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and academic growth.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavior specialists, to ensure comprehensive educational plans.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and goals as needed.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support students with special needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, caregivers, and colleagues to address academic and developmental needs.

Qualifications:

  • A valid Rhode Island Department of Education certification in Special Education.
  • Strong commitment to providing high-quality education and support to students with diverse needs.
  • Previous experience working in special education, particularly with elementary students, is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and other professionals.
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
  • Availability to work full-time during school hours, from 9:10 am to 3:25 pm.
  • Willingness to commit to the position until mid-June.
