Soliant is thrilled to announce a full-time Special Education Teacher position in a respected school district near Sonora, California. This role presents an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality education and support to middle school students in a resource classroom setting. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for middle school students with special needs.
- Provide differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications to support students' diverse learning requirements.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavior specialists, to ensure comprehensive educational plans.
- Monitor and assess student progress, regularly adjusting teaching strategies and goals to promote growth.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support middle school students with special needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, caregivers, and colleagues to address academic and developmental needs.
Qualifications:
- A valid California teaching credential with Mild to Moderate Special Education Certification.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality education and support to students with diverse needs.
- Previous experience working in special education, particularly in a resource classroom setting, is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and other professionals.
- Dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Availability to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, to support the educational needs of middle school students.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with students in grades 6-8.
