Soliant is excited to announce a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated School Special Educator to join a respected school district near Warwick, Rhode Island. This long-term substitute position focuses on serving students primarily in grade 8 and offers the chance to make a significant impact on their education and development. Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students in grades 6-8, with a primary focus on grade 8.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
  • Collaborate with an on-site coordinator to assist with logistics and case management.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and goals as necessary to promote growth.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute valuable insights to the educational team.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, caregivers, and colleagues to address students' academic and developmental needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and integrate innovative teaching techniques and resources into your instruction.

Qualifications:

  • Rhode Island Department of Education certification as a Special Education Teacher.
  • Strong commitment to providing high-quality education and support to students with diverse needs.
  • Previous experience working in special education is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and other professionals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work with students in grades 6-8, with a primary focus on grade 8.
  • Availability to work full-time, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., to meet the educational needs of students.
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
