Soliant is currently seeking a dedicated Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to join a well-regarded school district near Yuma, California. This unique opportunity allows you to make a profound impact on the education and development of high school students in a self-contained classroom setting. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for high school students in a self-contained class, spanning 9th through 12th grades.
- Provide differentiated instruction and accommodations to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the comprehensive delivery of educational services.
- Monitor and assess student progress, regularly adjusting teaching strategies and goals to promote growth.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support students with special needs.
- Utilize innovative teaching techniques and resources to engage and motivate students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, caregivers, and colleagues to address students' academic and developmental needs.
Qualifications:
- A valid California teaching credential with Special Education Certification.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality education and support to high school students with diverse needs.
- Previous experience working in special education, particularly in a self-contained classroom, is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and other professionals.
- Ability to work Tuesday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Willingness to work with students across various grade levels and categorical disabilities.
- Availability to start as soon as possible and commit to the position until May 30, 2024.
