SPED Needs: Resource Teacher (Autism Classroom)

• Age/Grade Level: 1st to 3rd grade.
• Caseload Details: Up to 15 students who spend the majority of their day in a self-contained program. This is a physically demanding position.
• Daily Schedule: 7.5 hours per day.
• Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized supports for students on the Autism spectrum to access the age-level curriculum.
  • Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals in the class, providing guidance and structure for the students.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Qualifications:
  • Michigan Special Education certification.
  • Experience working with students on the Autism spectrum.
  • Dedication to developing appropriate individualized supports for students to access the curriculum.

CI Teacher (Self-contained)

• Age/Grade Level: 1st to 3rd grade.
• Caseload Details: 15 students. This is a physically demanding position.
• Daily Schedule: 7.5 hours per day.
• Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with cognitive impairments in a self-contained classroom.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement and growth.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and goals.
• Qualifications:
  • Special Education teacher certification in Communication Impairment (CI) for the state of Michigan.
