Position: Special Education Teacher Location: Bessemer, AL

Job Description: As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs, helping them achieve academic and personal success. You will collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique requirements. Your expertise in instructional strategies, behavior management, and assessment will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs
• Design and deliver differentiated instruction based on individual student requirements
• Utilize appropriate instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to support student learning
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to provide comprehensive support for students
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
• Implement behavior management techniques to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment
• Participate in professional development activities and stay up-to-date with best practices in special education

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
• Previous experience working with students with special needs is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs
