Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our educational team in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students who have diverse learning needs and will be adept at developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs). This position requires delivering specialized instruction, collaborating with parents and school staff, and fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Adapt general education lessons to meet the needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Utilize specialized teaching methods and tools to enhance learning and communication.
  • Assess students' skills and learning requirements to develop appropriate teaching plans.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to monitor and support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed student records in accordance with district policies and state regulations.
  • Establish a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest teaching strategies and special education practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education.
  • Certification in a specific area of Special Education (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of child development and learning differences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute effective IEPs.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a strong dedication to supporting students with special needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and students with various disabilities.
  • Proficiency in using technology and educational software for instructional purposes.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding special education.
