Special Education Teacher (SPED) Contract Job Full Time

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This full-time position will commence in July and continue throughout the 2023-2024 school year. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Plan and deliver instructional lessons aligned with students' IEP goals and Pennsylvania state standards
• Utilize differentiated teaching strategies and instructional materials to address diverse learning needs
• Assess students' progress and adjust instruction accordingly to support their academic and social-emotional growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom practices
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and individualized support plans
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student records and progress

Requirements:

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Familiarity with designing and implementing IEPs
• Experience in adapting and modifying curriculum to meet individual student needs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Strong organizational skills to manage student records and documentation
