Position Details:

• Grade Levels: 6-8 (Middle School)
• Special Education Classrooms: Comprehensive/Intellectual Disabilities/Autism with Severe Needs
• Support: Two para assistants in the classroom
• Caseload: Approximately 10-12 students

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement specialized lesson plans tailored to the unique needs of students with severe disabilities.
• Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and growth.
• Collaborate with para assistants and support staff to provide individualized support to students.
• Implement and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to address academic and behavioral goals.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning atmosphere.

Requirements:

• Valid Tennessee Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Previous experience working with students with severe needs and complex disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dedication to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
