Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with licensed Speech Language Pathologists to provide speech and language therapy services to students.
  • Assist in conducting assessments and evaluations to determine students' speech and language needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans and goals based on each student's unique communication challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to create comprehensive strategies for student development.
  • Assist in delivering therapy services, under the guidance of the licensed Speech Language Pathologist, adapting interventions to suit the specific needs of each student.
  • Help monitor and document student progress, working to implement adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Participate actively in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, providing valuable insights into students' goals and progress.
  • Work alongside licensed professionals to stay updated on the latest research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • A valid California Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) license or certification.
  • Associate's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Previous experience working with pediatric populations, especially within an educational setting, is preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in assisting with speech and language assessments.
  • Dedication to helping students achieve their speech and language goals.
  • Availability to work full-time, with a schedule of 7 hours per day, for the 2023/2024 school year.
