Description: Our school system, located in Morgan Hill, California, is urgently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team for the new 2023-2024 school year. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work with a caseload ranged K-8th grade, along with a special education caseload, providing speech and language services in a supportive and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pediatric speech-language pathology, experience with play-based evaluations, and the ability to write IEP goals and collect data on goal progress.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments using play-based and standardized tools to determine students' speech and language needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both in individual and small group settings, targeting various speech and language disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a team approach to student success.
- Monitor and document students' progress, collect data on goal progress, and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Provide support and training to teachers and staff regarding communication strategies and accommodations.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and input on students' communication goals and progress.
- Stay updated with the latest research and evidence-based practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Valid state licensure in California as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a school or early intervention setting.
- Knowledge of play-based evaluation techniques and experience conducting assessments using developmentally appropriate measures.
- Familiarity with writing IEP goals and collecting data to track progress.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Understanding of special education laws and regulations (e.g., Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
