Speech-Language Pathologist in Morgan Hill, CA (2023/2024 NSY- FULL-TIME)

Description: Our school system, located in Morgan Hill, California, is urgently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team for the new 2023-2024 school year. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work with a caseload ranged K-8th grade, along with a special education caseload, providing speech and language services in a supportive and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pediatric speech-language pathology, experience with play-based evaluations, and the ability to write IEP goals and collect data on goal progress. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments using play-based and standardized tools to determine students' speech and language needs.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives.
• Provide direct therapy services to students, both in individual and small group settings, targeting various speech and language disorders.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a team approach to student success.
• Monitor and document students' progress, collect data on goal progress, and adjust therapy plans as needed.
• Provide support and training to teachers and staff regarding communication strategies and accommodations.
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and input on students' communication goals and progress.
• Stay updated with the latest research and evidence-based practices in the field of speech-language pathology.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
• Valid state licensure in California as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Experience working with young children, preferably in a school or early intervention setting.
• Knowledge of play-based evaluation techniques and experience conducting assessments using developmentally appropriate measures.
• Familiarity with writing IEP goals and collecting data to track progress.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
• Understanding of special education laws and regulations (e.g., Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
